This is quite an amazing piece
Based on the original fisher-price Snoopy the sniffing dog pull along toy made in the 60s…. This giant oversized most likely Shop display, possibly custom-made is a rare survivor and possibly a one off because I’ve not being able to find out any other history about him.
When I purchased this nearly 2 years ago, all 4 feet were in an extremely poor condition and totally broken made of plastic.
I sent the 4 feet in the condition that were in to a friend of mine who lives in France and builds stormtrooper armour….. he was able to take moulds, and sculpted the missing pieces to build me four new feet.
He did an extremely good job and they are much stronger than the originals, I recently fitted the feet on using the original pieces of metal that it came with, It also has small metal caps to keep the rods in place which nearly all of them stay on apart from one which can be a bit temperamental.
As you can see, the tail is a very large strong spring with a Pom on the end.
The dog itself does actually move on its wheels and makes the legs go round however this is also a bit clumsy due to the size and sometimes not all the feet go round in the order that they should but for display purposes an absolute showstopper for the nostalgia.
Condition wise as you can see is actually very good considering, with lots of different areas that have paint chip marks but considering this is handpainted it really isn’t bad at all and adds to the character.
Possibly engineered wood? I’m afraid I’m not an expert in woodwork.
Obviously, due to the size & heavyweight, this will have to be arranged for collection… But I’m happy to work with the new owner of this.
If you’ve read all of that, I only have one question for you….. Would you find another ???
I believe the answer is no.
🐾🐾
Size approx 165cm long x 60cm High x 75cm Wide ( not including the doing tail
Weight ( bloody heavy between two people ) “just”
Some care will be needed for transport for the feet and weight.
Please do not buy this directly off my website because the postage will be totally wrong…. unless you choose the option for collection
Please contact me directly first 😊
