A faux turtle Shell Advertising Sign for “SNAPPER SOUP”
A totally unique artist piece
With red lettering applied to the man-made carapace “special home-made snapper soup 25c sherry extra”
this has to be one of my best purchases I’ve had in a long time and found this very difficult to let go of.
As you can see condition is fair but paint chips cracks and other impact fractures.
You can see on the photos this only adds to the vintage look.
Please note: this is not a real shell, however the shell is so well detailed that even I questioned it, so I have done a few tests (recommended by fellow collectors / taxidermy experts) which suggested it’s man made and not natural.
