This very attractive, small wooden sarcophagus, trinket box, with sliding drawer, and removable lid.
The sliding drawer has dovetail joints.
The lid, I am not entirely sure if it is original or not, but it definitely looks the part still.
Inside the drawer, are 3 mermaids purses which we found inside when the item came to us. Therefore we have decided to keep these with the box.
A nice bit of natural history interest.
